Mariah, the 90s called and wants its look back
She is almost as well known for her flashy dressing as she is for her powerhouse vocals. But on Sunday evening Mariah Carey showed that even a mega pop star can get it wrong occasionally. The 44-year-old looked a far cry from her usual self as she appeared to be in some kind of time warp while out for dinner. Seriously, she looked like she had stepped out of the early nineties.
The singer, who usually likes to show off some skin, wore a black skater style skirt with a pale yellow leather jacket. She teamed it with thick black tights and over the knee boots - as well as a massive diamond necklace. The star also wore her hair in it's natural style - corkscrew curls.
Her throwback look comes just a few days after Rihanna admitted she used to copy Mariah. She said: "I loved Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Bob Marley. I would watch their videos all day long on TV because that's what they would play in the Caribbean. I would start mimicking everything I heard, everything Mariah did, I would try to do."
