Is an "Empire" scene forthcoming?

Following stars on Instagram tells fans a lot about their future projects. Such was the case with the Taraji P. Henson Instagram account, which shows off the Empire star's gorgeous natural beach waves in her hair, along with her beach body, as reported by Essence.

Some of the most recent photos posted to Taraji's Instagram page early on Sunday morning show her hanging out with "The Original Big Daddy", her Empire director, Lee Daniels. As Henson joked about Daniels trying to direct her in Las Vegas, a visit to Lee's Instagram account shows him preparing to pose Mariah Carey and Henson on May 24.

Such begs the question: Does this Instagram photo showing Mariah hanging out with the Empire folks mean that Carey will have a guest appearance on the popular show's second season? After all, rumors about Empire being cancelled for their second season have been proven untrue, as reported by the Inquisitr.

Mariah wants to be on Empire anyway, reported HLNtv. The show may have been the subject of controversy because of the musical stars' financial recompense and contractual obligations for their music, but that hasn't stopped major music icons from appearing on Empire. With appearances from singers like Jennifer Hudson, Estelle, Courtney Love, and Snoop Dogg, Empire offers a way to restart careers - or place more light on those musical careers already glowing.

So, it would stand to reason that Jussie Smollett would want Mariah to appear on Empire, and it doesn't hurt that Carey is a close friend of Daniels. Only three days ago, Lee posted an image to his Instagram account that proclaimed he was getting excited and ready, staying focused, and felt grateful for the second season of his runaway Fox hit.

With Mariah's latest album compilation #1 To Infinity estimated to post lower numbers than expected on the Billboard 2oo album chart, perhaps a stint on Empire will do her music career some good. But then again, Carey has nothing to prove - with a new Las Vegas stint keeping her in Sin City until the end of July, reports Time - and the #1 to Infinity documenting the long list of number one hits the diva has under her belt.

Nevertheless, a role for Mariah on Empire would surely bring the views. Perhaps a page from her real life divorce drama would prove cathartic, along with a rousing version of her famous song "Breakdown", featured on Empire.
