French Montana teases Justin, Mariah collaboration

So what would a French Montana, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Detail music collaboration sound like? We may not have long to find out if an Instagram photo first teased by French Montana on Friday morning is an indication that this superstar lineup is about to drop a surely epic new song.

The Bad Boy MC also tweeted the pic of himself with the legendary Mariah Carey, Prince of Pop Justin Bieber, and Detroit-born producer and artist Detail with the loaded caption - "coming soon". Mariah re-shared the snap with the same "coming soon" note. The songstress tagged in Justin, Montana, and the Grammy award winning producer Eric Hudson who worked with Bieber on his free download 2014 track "We Were Born For This".

She also tagged Joey Arbagey, a Carey collaborator during the making of the six-times platinum The Emancipation Of Mimi, and who is now executive VP A&R at Epic Records, where Mariah is currently signed. So is a musical team-up of these massive names on the cards? Given the caption, is there really any doubt?

In the picture, which was taken in a recording studio, French Montana is seen signing up and standing next to a beaming Mariah who looks off-camera. Right next to Mimi is Detail, who also seems distracted by something happening out of shot. As for the Biebs, the 21-year-old isn't seen smiling, but was doubtless pleased to be in this mix.

Mariah and Justin collaborated on in 2011 on a duet reworking of her 1994 hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You", for the then 17-year-old Canadian's 2011 Christmas album Under the Mistletoe. It was titled, "All I Want for Christmas for You (SuperFestive!)".

Detail dropped a French Montana-featuring remix of Beyoncé's "7/11" banger for Knowles' album re-release, Beyoncé: Platinum Edition in December. Fast forward to May this year, Montana - who is a Bieber pal - told MTV News that he and Lil Wayne recorded a song with Justin for Weezy's Tha Carter V album. That album has been withheld by Cash Money Records, who are now suing Jay Z's TIDAL service for $50 million for streaming songs from Wayne's recently released FWA (Free Weezy Album) album.

Meanwhile, while the world awaits confirmation of highly probable Montana-Bieber-Carey-Detail release, the Biebs is now on #Day28 of the countdown to the drop of his anticipated single "What Do You Mean?". The track will be the first outing from his fourth studio album after 2012's Believe, his last full studio album.

As might be expected, Justin Bieber fans took to Twitter to express seemingly unanimous excitement about the young icon's likely forthcoming collaboration with Carey and Co.
