Pop star Carey "getting needed rest" in hospital
Pop singer Mariah Carey, who was admitted to hospital last week suffering from exhaustion that led her to cancel her headline role in MTV's 20th anniversary show, was still recuperating, her spokeswoman said Tuesday. Publicist Cindi Berger said Carey, 31, "is still in the hospital and she is getting her much needed rest". Carey was admitted to an undisclosed New York-area hospital July 25.
Carey, one of the most successful female solo singers with more than a dozen number one singles in her career, has canceled all public appearances, including her performance at Wednesday's MTV show. In recent months, Carey filmed two movies, "Glitter" and "Wise Girls". She also wrote, recorded and produced her newest album, the soundtrack to "Glitter." (Reuters)
