Mariah hates gossip
It's been what seems like forever, but Mariah Carey is still trying to defend her fall from grace and subsequent breakdown. "It was a complete and total stress," she told BBC Radio One. "Everything I went through that year: the lies, the hoopla and actually working myself into the ground until I collapsed from exhaustion. And that led to people saying I was trying to kill myself..."
While Carey has had her fair share of knocks from the press, she made sure that one group felt her scorn - gossip columnists. "People wanna hear the gossip and the lies," she said. "That's why I say celebrity gossip is nonsense. It's either planted by the celebrity or else written by someone who is sitting around with nothing to do."
I beg your pardon, Mariah, but we certainly do have plenty to do! Why, just this morning I... well, there was that party last week and... what about the... okay, she's got a point, we're all useless slugs who should be rounded up and made to wear clown outfits.
