New album title

In January, a posting at The Velvet Rope said Mariah Carey's new album will be called "Lollipop", and will feature a mix of "sensual, funky groove[s] that should hit radio in mid- to late May". The New York Post spoke with Carey's rep Cindi Berger for confirmation. "Mariah has been working on the album in the studio," she said, "but there is no time frame or title set yet."

Many fans said they will be disappointed if Mariah chooses another girly title, some even considered they might stop being a fan. TJ from from Norway says he hopes Mariah will choose a much more mature title. Edgewise from the UK heard on the radio that Mariah's working title for her new album is "Princess". The dj stressed it was a working title and is probably not what Mariah will end up calling the album.

Leah from Spain would be disappointed if Mariah doesn't give her new album a girly title. That's what makes Mariah, well Mariah: "The first thing that all of my non-Mariah fan friends say is, 'All her album titles have really girly names, thats so nice.' I mean its not like she does it deliberetly. Like 'I need another girly word for my next album'. They have a special meaning to her, and represent something. If she does call her next album Princess what will it represent, and how will it be important to her? I was just wondering that."

How do you think Mariah should call her next album? And why? Should it be a "girly" name like Butterfly, Rainbow and Charmbracelet, or would you like to see something more "mature"? We are interested in what you think. Send your album titles to info@mcarchives.com and we will publish the most interesting titles.
