Top bands to cover Mariah

Two of Britain's biggest new bands, Bloc Party and Kaiser Chiefs are set to team up for a bizarre cover version of a Mariah Carey song. The bands are planning to get together to record a festive version of the diva's 1994 hit "All I Want For Christmas Is You".
Nick Baines from Kaiser Chiefs told The Sun: "We talked about doing a festive single with Bloc Party, like a sort of limited-edition cover." The two bands toured together on the NME Awards tour last January and have remained friends ever since.
Both have since achieved critical and commercial success. Bloc Party's album "Silent Alarm" and the Kaisers' "Employment" both went top 10 in the UK and both have been nominated for the 2005 Mercury Music Prize.
