Udita's song inspired from Carey video

First it was Koena Mitra's song Ishq Hai Jhoota, from the movie Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena, based on Christina Aguilera's raunchy video, Dirrty. Now, it's Mariah Carey's turn to be a source of inspiration for Udita Goswami in her upcoming film, Aksar.

Those who have seen the teasers of the song Jhalak from the Anant Mahadevan film will see Udita sporting a sleek, black off-shoulder dress, slit on one side. The sight could ring a bell to those who have seen Mariah Carey's video, It's Like That, from her album, The Emancipation of Mimi.

Yup, it's a copy. Vikram Phadnis, the man responsible for the dress, admits he was briefed to produce something similar to Mariah's dress. "I was asked to recreate the feel and look which Mariah had in the It's Like That video. Remo, who's done the choreography for the song, wanted the sensuous look which Mariah had in her video."

He adds that the dress was made in the span of a day-and-a-half. "I didn't have much time for it, but Udita loved it. However the slit in the dress isn't as high as Mariah's; also, it's quite different at the back."

Udita too admits she has a Carey hangover in the song. "I think Remo saw the video; he wanted me to wear something similar for the song. I didn't really have to dance in it, just move around. I enter the song in the black dress, just like Mariah did in her video."
