Nevertheless, in a field of vocal powerhouses, including Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige, Rihanna holds her own, making her lines distinctive. Carrie Underwood and Sheryl Crow both sound remarkably at home in this vaguely urban setting, as does Melissa Etheridge. In the end, cooperation is the biggest star of "Just Stand Up", and there's nothing wrong with that (Newsday)
