Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas" Broadway show
Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You is one of the few tolerable yuletide tunes, and now we hear it is to be the basis for a new Broadway show about her life. The project, named after the song, will be ready in time for next year's festive season in New York and could even see Mariah making a few guest appearances.
"Mariah's going to be involved in the whole process," says a source close to the 40-year-old singer. "She's got so many fans in the US who want to know her story so it's a great idea. The casting process hasn't begun yet but will kick off at the beginning of next year. She's certainly going to be a busy girl, she's already bringing out a Christmas album this year, Merry Christmas To You, but as of next year this will be taking her focus. And If it all goes to plan hopefully it will be hitting the UK afterwards." (Express)
