About Dove from USA: "Just sing from your heart the entire time and your notes will continue to shine regardless of the dirt that gets splattered around you." - Mariah Carey

Why You Mad? (55,830) by Dove from USA
I like it. It sounds like something I would listen to on my way to work. I listened to the version posted on TMZ.

Lifestyles of the rich and famous (54,880) by Dove from USA
I think Mariah's next project should be a seven song video album. Each music video can be a continuation of the last, like what she did with ILT and WBT. A music video mini-series inspired by Gilligan's Island with Mariah playing Ginger and Packer playing a young Mr. Howell. JD can be Gilligan and her publicist can play Mary Ann. Or they could use the power of technology so that Mariah can play Mary Anne too. Bianca can play Mary Ann. The first video can be upbeat like Fantasy, Honey, Heartbreaker, ILT, Migrate, etc. It can be of how their lives are before they board the yacht and how they came to be on it and show them living it up. Then the second video can be more laid back, like Underneath The Stars, and show them relaxing, sunbathing, eating, and relishing in their awesomeness. The third video can be of the shipwreck. It can be a more dark and tumultuous sounding song. With lots of Jack and Rose in Titanic heroism. In the fourth video, they can be all dirty and trying to survive their first days on the island by eating bananas and coconuts. Ginger and Mary Ann can wear coconut top bikinis. Mary Ann can wear daisy dukes with hers and Ginger can wear something more glamour-sexy like a sarong or something. The fifth video can be a sultry love video with Mr. Howell and Ginger embracing a lot and falling more deeply in love. Mary Ann can have a side story with the professor or Gilligan. There can also be shots of them building houses and falling in love while doing it. In the sixth video the houses are already built and they are acclimated and chilling on hammocks but then a villain comes and sets their houses on fire. They have to go after the villain and kill him, Lord Of The Flies style. Then, after they do, they roast a pig and dance around the fire. In the final video they are rescued, but Ginger and Packer buy the Island and build their dream house on it. They invite the gang over for cocktails and the whole gang arrives in a helicopter.

Her manager Stella (54,879) by Dove from USA
I don't mind her manager being in pictures because all good stories need a strong supporting cast. I think she's very pretty but she wears too much make-up. It's too harsh and too much tan.

Packriah (54,878) by Dove from USA
I love all the positive press Mariah is getting. It's like a saga and I can't wait to find out what happens next. Mimi's new beau is tall, rich, and sexy, just like in the fairy tales. Girly girls like me eat this stuff up. I can't wait for the happy, love-filled music that's to come.

Bill / correction to my post (54,629) by Dove from USA
Good points Bill. Correction to my post (54,620): When I said Mariah is an emotive interpretive singer, what I meant is that when she sings she makes you feel it, even when she didn't write the songs herself. Maybe that wasn't the proper terminology but it felt right.

Baby / Bill (54,621) by Dove from USA
Baby, I don't know him. Sidenote: Bill where are you? I'm missing your classy, beautifully written, lovely posts up in here.

Andrew / RJJ12 (54,620) by Dove from USA
Thanks for responding to my post Andrew and RJJ12. I was curious about those 3 because their positions are usually the most different from mine, and it makes me think about it from a different perspective. Thank you for the clip, I had seen it but had forgotten that she said that. L.A. Reid mentioned MC making a standards album, which I would love, but some people don't think it's a good idea. Here's why I like the idea: MC is an emotive and interpretive singer, which many singers of today are not, she will make us feel something. I also think MC would add a modern twist to the songs that would sound more like Amy Winehouse than Lady Gaga. LG's standards album did moderately well and she has a nasally voice, and although technically a good singer, she doesn't emote the way Mariah does. MC already dresses like a chanteuse. The part in the closet in the Infinity video looked awkward because she's dressed like a Barbie while bouncing and rapping. If she laid on a piano or stood in one place it would look normal if she was singing the standards. I've read that when you're stuck in a rut it's better to do anything over nothing. For example, people with writer's block should garden, or do something that is not their bliss. It helps them grow and get centered so that they remember what it is they do love. I would rather have another flop (although I wouldn't call MIAMTEC a flop, it debuted at #3 on the Billboard) than another dead period with no new music.

I don't mean as a new direction but as a "break" while she finds a new sound.

Standards album (54,582) by Dove from USA
I'm curious to know what Andrew, The Truth, and Orkun's opinion's are, in regards to Mariah making a standards album or a gospel album.

Mariah in Paris (54,413) by Dove from USA

Just to be clear (54,403) by Dove from USA
Everything I write in my posts is my opinion. If sometimes it seems like I'm stating my opinions as facts it's because I believe what I'm saying and for me it is true. I know not everyone has the same beliefs as me. I enjoy reading other people's perspectives and that's why I always throw my two cents in too, so that we can get a broader picture of what everyone's thoughts are.

Sony (54,400) by Dove from USA
I wonder how many albums her contract is for. I wonder if she has new material ready yet. I think they should compile an album of previously unreleased tracks from her Sony years.

Mimi L Re: 54363 (54,391) by Dove from USA
It's possible to state your truth humbly. She could have replied, "It is a dream of mine to hold the record for the most #1 singles but I'm thankful to have more #1's than any other solo artist. That's an amazing accomplishment. I'm grateful to have had such a long and successful career and that my creativity well is still running. I'm still writing quality songs that the public enjoys." I know those are my words but I'm sure she could come up with a way to say it while not sounding snobby.

Oprah's New Chapter (54,362) by Dove from USA
Thinking back to when I was a teen and preteen, the artists that were popular were the ones who were on MTV, VH1, and E all day. They had their videos, interviews, specials talking about them, etc. There was no way people didn't know who they were. Remember what Newlyweds did for Jessica Simpson's career? That show was on about three times a day. The trick is that they made her relatable and likable while showing the fancy lifestyle of celebrity. It was entertaining. I would love to see a few episodes of cameras following Mariah around. She could do the New Chapter on Oprah that shows her overcoming some struggle. It has to be a real struggle, though, because people can tell when things are fake. The idea is to make people feel something.

Power ballads (54,361) by Dove from USA
I love Infinity but I can sorta see why it didn't go to #1. It's a great show closer, empowering to people getting out of relationships, and I'm glad it exists. But Mariah still needs to get the public back on her side. The thing people love about Mariah's songs is that they make us feel something. Sometimes the video more than the song is what makes us feel something like with Honey. The Honey video was exciting and a new look for Mariah. I'm about to say some negative things but I am not trying to be shady. I was watching the BMA performance again and I noticed when the camera cut to some of the celebrities they looked bored and Taylor Swift looked at her boyfriend like, "I told you so." Like they had made a bet that it would have a sustained high note at the end. Maybe power ballads from Mariah are not exciting anymore because she's done so many of them. Maybe she should still do them (for the fans) but just leave them on the album and not make them the singles.

L.A. Reid (54,354) by Dove from USA
I don't believe L.A. Reid is trying to sabotage MC. It would benefit him if she did well. I think maybe he doesn't know about the power of intention. It's better to try and fail then to not try at all. By stating that Mariah will never have another #1, he is setting that plan into motion. Even if he doesn't think she will have another #1, he should never say it, especially not to the world. Everyone who read that article, or heard Mariah say nobody can beat The Beatles, was programmed and are subconsciously working to make that happen. When Jimmy Kimmel asked her if it was her dream to beat The Beatles' record for the most #1's she should have said "Yes" and stated why. (If it is, maybe she really doesn't care.) L.A. Reid should have said that Mariah can still make #1 records and listed all of her virtues. Something like what Walter Afanasief said about her in this clip. I think Infinity was promoted. They had "buy Infinity" banners on every YouTube video the first few days it came out. She had televised performances on shows watched by a lot of people. I think things are moving in a good direction. Her voice is improving, she is regaining her confidence as a performer with the Vegas residency, she's dressing better and looking great, she has a fresh new team in place, she's at Sony where a large chunk of her catalog is, and I truly do believe L.A. Reid is on her side.

Giselle / Britney (54,339) by Dove from USA
"Also, why wouldn't Britney get support and love?" Everyone deserves love and support, especially when they're going through tough times. What I meant with that comment is that during that time the media was really going in on Britney. The headlines were saying she was using drugs, that she was an unfit mother, etc. A big part of Britney's appeal was that she was a beautiful, sexy female and they were printing the most unflattering pictures of her that made her look like she was from a scary movie. She was always the sweet southern girl who never said anything negative about anyone and gave the most politically correct answers, then suddenly, she started being rude to interviewers and saying things like, "I'm not your kid's mom, take care of your own damn kids" when asked if she was a bad role-model for the youngsters who followed her. That happens to a lot of celebrities and usually after it happens it's hard to come back from it, it kills their career. Britney is one of those artists (like Mariah and Marilyn) that people feel like they know and we love them. Even when the worst of them comes out we still root for them and hope they will persevere. When bad things happen to them we feel it because they're part of us. That's all I meant, I was not trying to be shady at all.

Safety (54,325) by Dove from USA
I wasn't too concerned with the kids' immediate safety because they have nannies working in shifts around the clock looking out for them. I was more concerned with M not being present for them or taking the wrong combo of meds and alcohol and maybe passing out in the bathtub. But what you guys are saying makes sense. Nick has always said that she's a great mom and she hasn't shown symptoms publicly of being bipolar. Britney was driving drunk, shaving her head, vandalizing a car, at clubs every night getting wasted, etc. She didn't have round the clock nannies either.

Tiina (54,320) by Dove from USA
Thank you for sharing your experience. It was beautiful and enlightening. Maybe some young kid is reading this board and will gain strength from your story and see that things can get better and they can live a productive and happy life, even with mental illness.

Mental illness (54,295) by Dove from USA
She does look great in Paris, thanks for posting that video, it made me smile. Her smile is so genuine and contagious. If Shawn is saying she's okay, I'm going to choose to believe him. She appears to be doing better than fine. But, just to speak on behalf of alcoholics or people with mental-illness: bipolar is not crazy. I don't think people should be made to feel like it's a shameful thing because it's not something you choose and neither is alcoholism. There is treatment and things can get better. I'm not ashamed to admit that I became depressed in 2014 and started taking antidepressants. They helped, I'm still taking them, and my quality of life is worlds better. I had a professor who was schizophrenic and medication improved her quality of life, too. Most people have some issue they deal with, nobody's life is perfect.

Sorry (54,275) by Dove from USA
I don't for sure believe him but I didn't know they had a falling out. I thought they were close. It scared me to think about it being true. I was genuinely frightened and concerned for a minute I and didn't mean to come off as condescending. Sorry. Honestly I've been working too much and I'm exhausted. I don't feel like I've been thinking clearly.

My two cents (54,256) by Dove from USA
A lot of celebrities have come out about being bipolar: Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato. Maybe it's a side-effect of fame. I just want her to be okay. If she is on those meds she can't be drinking. If she does have a problem I just want her to get help and get better. I want to look forward to new music from her for my whole life. Plus, she has those babies who need their mama. If there really is a problem, career doesn't matter right now. She should just take some time to stabilize and we'll be here waiting when she's ready. Maybe the label can release a b-sides and rarities (unreleased songs) to keep her name out there or if she feels up to working she can record the standards album. MC you are precious and loved, take care of yourself if you need to. Let us know that you're okay or on your way to okay. Love and light to you.

National Enquirer story (54,234) by Dove from USA
If she really is having these issues that her brother is saying she does, I pray someone who can do something to help her will. Mariah is still so young and has a lot to live for.

5 Least favorite Mariah songs (54,205) by Dove from USA
This is a difficult exercise. There are songs I used to skip that have since grown on me and I now love them, such as: Long Ago, Did I Do That, a third of the Charmbracelet album. Now, honestly, the only song that makes me cringe a little is Touch My Body but I'll still listen to it if it comes on.
